“If You Give A Mouse A Cookie” written by Laura Joffe Numeroff, tells the comedic story of a little mouse with a lot to ask for! This book is mainly directed at children ages 2-6, but it’s meaning is clear and humorous to everyone! It talks about a little mouse(who metaphorically represents a child) and a young boy(who would represent a loving and nurturing mother or father). In the story the little boy gives the mouse a cookie sending him off into a whirlwind of needs and requests! This is much like the way a young child’s needs from his or her parents can seem to never end! Overall, this book is written in a humorous, child friendly way that is great for young children, and even for adults!
