Review
The Candymakers is a very funny book which will keep you on your toes. The author Wendy Mass really brings to life the characters. The Candymakers is about a candy making contest where there are four contestants from each candy factory in the area. (I.E., one from each state)and each contestant is trying to win. They compete against everyone else, those in the same factory and other factories. The very cool part about this book is it has different parts which follow the different contestants in a certain factory; Logan, the candymaker’s son; Daisy, a cheerful girl; Miles, the boy allergic to rowboats, the color pink, and many other strange things; and Philip, the mean, snobby boy who’s a man with a plan. Each part is the same three days starting at the same point and ending at the same point. But don’t think this will bore you, each of them has their own special secret and they all see the days in different ways.
Opinion
My opinion on this book is is 4.9 stars out of 5. It was a very fun read and I enjoyed reading it. The only thing that bugged me was it is a lot like The Mysterious Benedict Society. They have very different plots but the same feel to them. It was still a very good book.
Recommendations
I recommend this book if you like a laugh and you are okay with being surprised easily.. or taunted with candy.

If you liked this author, there is another book by her called “Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life”. I thought it was really good! It has adventure, humor and a little bit of mystery. It was a really good read and I would suggest it to anyone!
